Gold Rush! Avoiding Fool's Gold- Competencies in Academic Health Centers
This presentation will focus on how clearly defined Competency objectives can be made the basis for curriculum development and assessment of learners in health education. Specific reference will be made to the “Outcomes Project” developed by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education for use in Graduate Medical Education programs. Examples of curriculum documents and assessment tools that specifically address learner competence will be discussed.
